The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced dates for the off-cycle governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
According to the electoral body, the Ekiti State Governorship Election will hold on Monday, July 20, 2026, while voters in Osun State will head to the polls on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
INEC made the announcement in line with its constitutional mandate to conduct elections not earlier than 150 days and not later than 30 days before the expiration of the tenure of officeholders.
With this schedule, political activities, campaigns, and strategic alignments are expected to heighten across both states in the coming months as aspirants gear up for what promises to be a fiercely contested electoral season.
