President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to the government and people of Borno State over the recent terrorist attacks, describing them as the terrorists’ “final desperate and frantic attempts” to spread fear amid mounting pressure from the nation’s armed forces and security agencies.
In a statement personally signed by the President, he said, “It is profoundly upsetting. I mourn those who lost their lives, sympathise with the injured, and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time.”
He commended the courage and resilience of Nigerian troops, noting their successful repulsion of coordinated attacks on military positions in the state. The attacks, he added, were “desperate acts of evil-minded terrorist groups” that would be decisively curtailed by military and civilian task forces.
President Tinubu also revealed that additional equipment and operational support had been approved last weekend to bolster the capabilities of security and intelligence agencies. Furthermore, he has directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation, while emergency agencies have been instructed to provide proper care for the injured.

“The terrorists will find no safe haven in Nigeria. We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them. Nigeria will not succumb to fear,” the President concluded.
