Aiyedatiwa Assures Timely Completion of Akeredolu-Named Judiciary Complex

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has assured residents that the ongoing construction of the state’s new Judiciary Complex in Akure will be completed on schedule, commending the quality and pace of the work.

The Governor gave the assurance during an unannounced inspection of the project site on Saturday, shortly after attending the sitting of the Ondo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal at the High Court Complex. He was accompanied by the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye.

The edifice, named after the late former Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, was flagged off on December 27, 2024, with a projected completion time of 48 weeks.

Designed to redefine the justice delivery system in the state, the complex will house a ceremonial court, modular courts, registry, library, exhibition halls, a utility building, and modern parking infrastructure. It is aimed at providing a more conducive and efficient environment for legal proceedings in Ondo State.

Speaking after the inspection, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism about meeting the project’s completion target.

“I am happy with how the project is going. From what I have seen today, the work is going very fast with high quality and this is an indication that the project will be completed as planned,” the Governor said.

He further noted: “I got the report from the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing that the project is going according to the timeline and to budget. We envisaged this would be completed within a year and we are working towards that target.”

The governor’s visit came moments after the tribunal, which concluded its hearing on the Ondo State governorship election petitions, adjourned judgment to June 4, 2025.

The Governor’s tour of the project site underscores his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and judicial reform.
