Amotekun Nabs Prime Suspect in APC Ward Chairman’s Killing

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, have arrested the prime suspect in the brutal murder of Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 Chairman in Akoko South-West Local Government Area.

Adepoyigi was abducted and later found dead under suspicious circumstances, sparking outrage within the political and local communities.

Confirming the development, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the state, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said the suspect is already in custody and has confessed to the crime. According to him, the suspect is currently assisting security agencies in tracking down other members of the gang involved in the gruesome act.

“We have made a significant breakthrough. The prime suspect in the murder of the APC chieftain has been arrested and is cooperating with us. The manhunt for his accomplices is ongoing,” Adeleye stated.

The development comes amid renewed calls for improved security measures in the state, especially as political activities continue to gain momentum ahead of the coming polls.
