Former Nigerian lawmaker Shehu Sani is praising Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, describing him as “a courageous patriot and an intellectual asset to Nigeria.”
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate, made the remarks in a post shared on his verified account on X (formerly Twitter). He highlighted Soludo’s impact on Nigeria’s economy during his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), noting that his reform-driven leadership remains widely referenced in financial policy circles.

According to Sani, Soludo’s banking sector reforms played a crucial role in preventing major financial institutions from collapse.
“The last time I saw him was when he was the CBN Governor. He implemented bold reforms that saved Nigerian banks from bankruptcy and boosted their capital base. Today, Nigerian banks are present across Africa and parts of Europe,” Sani wrote.
Soludo, a former economics professor and CBN chief, is currently seeking re-election as the governor of Anambra State, where political momentum continues to build ahead of the vote.
