The member representing Okitipupa Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa, has applauded the nomination of Professor Igbekele Amos Ajibefun as Commissioner-designate for Okitipupa Local Government Area by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Ayebusiwa, in a personal statement released via his official Facebook handle on Friday, described the appointment as both timely and well-deserved, lauding the H. E, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for making what he termed “a very appropriate nomination.”
“Professor Ajibefun is a household name in the state; synonymous with excellence in public service, in varied capacities, especially within the (higher) education sector. The distinguished professor of Agricultural Economics was Rector of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo; and Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, at various times,” the statement read.
The lawmaker, who previously served as Chairman of the House Committee on Tertiary Institutions, recalled the nominee’s remarkable impact on the state’s higher institutions. “I am aware, then Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Institutions, of his glowing imprints on the state’s two prestigious higher institutions, where he had served meritoriously,” he wrote.
Expressing optimism about the nominee’s future contributions, Ayebusiwa noted that Professor Ajibefun is well-positioned to bring his wealth of experience in public service and academic governance to bear in the new role.
“Congratulations, Sir,” he concluded.
