Dabiri-Erewa Hails Yilwatda’s Emergence as APC National Chairman

Dabiri-Erewa Hails Yilwatda’s Appointment as APC National Chairman

Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his appointment as the substantive National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Dabiri-Erewa, in a post via her official X handle on Thursday, expressed optimism about Yilwatda’s leadership, describing his appointment as timely and strategic for the ruling party.

“Hearty congratulations to the new APC Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda. Wishing him success as he steers the affairs of @OfficialAPCNg,” the NiDCOM Boss wrote.

Yilwatda, a former Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission and ex-university lecturer, was on Thursday unanimously endorsed by the party’s National Executive Committee during a high-level meeting in Abuja.

He takes over from Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who recently stepped aside citing personal reasons.

A former governorship candidate of the APC in Plateau State, Yilwatda is expected to bring technocratic and academic experience to the helm of the party as it prepares for upcoming off-cycle elections and internal restructuring.

Dabiri-Erewa’s goodwill message adds to the growing list of congratulatory notes pouring in from party stakeholders, many of whom view the appointment as a fresh opportunity to reposition the APC ahead of future political contests.
