
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursement figures for the first eight months of 2025, showing that Delta State received the highest allocation among Nigeria’s 36 states.
According to the data, Delta led with ₦423.85 billion, followed closely by Rivers State with ₦388.76 billion and Akwa Ibom at ₦348.62 billion. Bayelsa and Lagos rounded out the top five, receiving ₦306.88 billion and ₦289.31 billion, respectively.
Kano State emerged as the highest recipient in the northern region, with ₦195.12 billion, while other northern states such as Kaduna, Katsina, and Borno received ₦165.03 billion, ₦153.97 billion, and ₦151.04 billion, respectively.
Ondo State received ₦171.85 billion, positioning it in the middle range of allocations. Other notable allocations included FCT Abuja with ₦121.85 billion, and Ogun, the lowest among the states, at ₦110.35 billion.
Overall, the total FAAC disbursement to all 36 states from January to August 2025 amounted to ₦4.587 trillion.

The breakdown highlights significant variations in federal allocations, reflecting differences in revenue generation, population size, and statutory considerations.
