EX-FUTASU PRESIDENT TASKS AIYEDATIWA ON UNFULFILLED PROMISES TO FUTA COMMUNITY

A former President of the Federal University of Technology Akure Students’ Union, Abejoye Adegoriola Taiwo, popularly known as Psalmmy, has appealed to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to fulfill promises made to the university community during his administration.

Psalmmy recalled that the governor had, during a meeting with the students’ union executives, pledged to provide a transformer to tackle persistent electricity problems faced by students living around the West Gate axis. He added that the governor directed the Commissioner for Energy to ensure prompt delivery, but the commitment remains unfulfilled months after.

He also urged the state government to extend its ongoing road construction projects to the off-campus areas of FUTA, stressing that improved road networks would enhance student safety and mobility.

Reacting to the appeal, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed surprise over the delay in the transformer’s delivery. He promised to intervene personally to ensure its installation and said the government would consider extending the road projects to the affected student communities.
