Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, dispatching thousands of campaign materials to the state in preparation for a major statewide endorsement rally slated for Monday.
The gesture, which marks a significant political alignment across party lines, underscores Fayose’s increasing support for Oyebanji’s administration and its policies.
Sources close to the former governor confirmed that the branded materials—which include posters, banners, T-shirts, and caps—have already been distributed across strategic locations in the state ahead of the event.
Political observers view Fayose’s move as a bold statement of unity and a major boost for Governor Oyebanji as he gears up for a second term.
The upcoming statewide endorsement is expected to attract political leaders, traditional rulers, and party loyalists from all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State.
Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has on several occasions expressed admiration for Oyebanji’s leadership style, describing him as a “detribalised leader who prioritises the welfare of the people.”

Monday’s event will likely mark a turning point in Ekiti’s political landscape, as supporters from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition PDP prepare to converge in a show of solidarity.
