
The Federal Government has announced that Thursday, 19th March, and Friday, 20th March 2026, will be public holidays nationwide to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslims across the country for successfully observing the holy month.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim faithful to continue practising the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice beyond Ramadan. He also called on all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the nation’s unity, peace, and prosperity.

The Minister further encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly while showing kindness to the less privileged, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
