Hunters Apprehend Two Suspected Kidnappers in Owo, Ondo State

Two members of a kidnap syndicate were arrested on Friday in Owo Community, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This was confirmed in a video posted on the Facebook page of one Ogbeni OB Sugar. In the two-minute 41-second video, the two suspected kidnappers were seen tied down while residents interrogated them about their operations, their leader, and other details.

Some items seen with the suspects included guns, cutlasses, cans of beer, and energy drinks.

One of the suspects was heard asking for water.

A resident of the community, who requested anonymity, told RootedScopeMedia that local hunters arrested the suspects.

“It was hunters that arrested them yesterday when they stormed their hideouts in the bush. Some of them ran away while the two were arrested and brought to the town,” he stated.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, said he saw the video and that the state command has commenced an investigation. “I saw the video too, and we have commenced an investigation into it,” the PPRO stated.
