
A strategic meeting between the Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mr. Laurent De Boeck, and the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has deepened collaboration aimed at safeguarding the rights of Nigerians abroad and maximizing diaspora contributions to national development.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to addressing migration governance, diaspora engagement, and the protection of Nigerians abroad.
IOM commended NIDCOM’s proactive support for Nigerian migrants and reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate on sustainable migration strategies and diaspora-driven development in Nigeria.
“We are encouraged by NIDCOM’s ongoing dedication to championing the interests of Nigerians abroad,” Mr. De Boeck stated. “Together, we can unlock the diaspora’s full potential to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development goals.”
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa expressed appreciation for IOM’s longstanding support—especially in migrant reintegration and technical assistance—and welcomed deeper bilateral cooperation to tackle migration-related challenges.
