The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to re-evaluate the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), raising fresh discussions on examination integrity and candidate performance across the country.
According to an official statement released by the Board on Tuesday, the review process is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 15, 2025. The Board cited the need to ensure transparency, fairness, and accuracy in the assessment of candidates’ scores as the key motivation behind the decision.
As part of this process, JAMB has also unveiled the list of panel members who will lead the comprehensive review. The panel comprises seasoned educationists, ICT experts, and representatives from relevant regulatory bodies. Their mandate includes verifying score anomalies, assessing reported technical issues, and recommending necessary actions to uphold the credibility of the examination.
“This step is a proactive measure to maintain public trust and confidence in the examination process,” the Board stated, assuring candidates and institutions that the final outcomes will reflect due diligence and fairness.
The development comes amid growing concerns from parents about discrepancies in the 2025 UTME results, with several candidates and stakeholders calling for clarification.
