
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Comrade Philip Shaibu on his recent appointment as the Director-General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS).
Shaibu, who served as Deputy Governor of Edo State, takes over the leadership of the NIS from Professor Olawale Moronkola. The NFF described his appointment as a positive development for Nigerian sports.

In a statement, the NFF commended Shaibu’s experience and dedication to the advancement of sports in the country. The federation expressed confidence that under his stewardship, the NIS would continue to train top-class coaches, sports scientists, and administrators, thereby enhancing Nigeria’s competitive edge internationally.
The NFF also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Shaibu, highlighting his passion for sports and his proven track record in promoting growth in the sector.
With Shaibu at the helm, the NFF hopes to see closer collaboration between football and other sporting disciplines, which will contribute to the overall development of sports in Nigeria.
The federation pledged its support to the NIS in achieving its mandate of fostering sports excellence nationwide.
