NIDCOM Boss Urges Nigerians in Diaspora to Support ‘Nigeria First’ Policy for National Development

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has called on Nigerians living abroad to actively engage in the country’s ongoing reform efforts, which are targeted at fostering national growth and development.

According to a statement issued by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocol at NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa made the call during a recent video chat. In her remarks, she emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s introduction of a new executive order—dubbed the Nigeria First Policy—is aimed at prioritizing Nigeria-centric initiatives, promoting locally made products, and advancing home-grown solutions in government procurement processes.

She stressed that the Nigeria First Policy comes at a pivotal moment in the nation’s development journey and requires the active participation of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

“This is an opportunity to key into this initiative,” Dabiri-Erewa said. “My brothers and sisters in the diaspora, this is your chance to bring your expertise, knowledge, and talents back home to Nigeria.”

While assuring that NiDCOM remains committed to partnering with Nigerians in the diaspora across multiple platforms, the NiDCOM boss also commended them for their outstanding achievements globally.

She concluded by urging diaspora Nigerians to join hands with the Tinubu-led administration in building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
