The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended Nigerian-born Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi for setting an unprecedented record in a U.S. medical residency program.
Dr. Oluseyi stunned the medical community by clinching all eight of the program’s top awards — a feat never before achieved in the history of the institution. He also made history as the first Black resident to attain such a distinction, outperforming his peers across all key performance indicators.
Describing the accomplishment as “excellence at its peak,” Dabiri-Erewa praised Oluseyi for exemplifying the brilliance, resilience, and professionalism Nigerians in the diaspora are known for.
“This moment is not only a personal victory for Dr. Oluseyi but also a national pride for Nigeria and the global Black community,” she said, stressing that his story offers hope and inspiration for young Nigerians worldwide.
She noted that such remarkable achievements help shift global narratives and spotlight the positive impact Nigerians are making across diverse fields.
NiDCOM reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing and supporting exceptional diaspora Nigerians who continue to raise the country’s profile through their conduct and contributions.
