Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to take a firm stand against bullying, emphasizing the importance of teaching children that true strength lies in compassion and that leadership begins with caring for one another.
Her call was part of the message marking this year’s Children’s Day celebration, themed “Stand Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation.”
Mrs. Tinubu highlighted that the theme reflects the collective responsibility of Nigerians to protect and empower children—the future of the nation.
She stressed the urgent need for every child to grow up in a safe, supportive environment, free from fear. The First Lady condemned all forms of bullying, whether in schools, communities, or online, warning that such behavior causes deep and lasting emotional, social, and academic harm to children.
