NPF Operatives Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Seven Victims, Recover Arms Across Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is intensifying efforts in the ongoing fight against kidnapping, banditry, and the illegal proliferation of arms across the country. Leveraging coordinated tactical operations and credible intelligence, operatives have made key arrests, rescued kidnapped victims, and recovered a cache of weapons, thereby disrupting several criminal networks.

According to a statement from the Force Headquarters, operatives of the Niger State Police Command, in collaboration with local security teams, responded swiftly to recent attacks on Tungan-Boka and Masaha villages in Mashegu Local Government Area. The kidnappers, who had abducted seven persons, were trailed to a forest hideout where a fierce gun duel ensued. The suspects were subdued, and all hostages were rescued unharmed.

In related operations across Plateau and Taraba States, security agents conducted raids on identified criminal enclaves, leading to the arrest of two suspects. Recovered items included AK-47 rifles, pump-action shotguns, magazines, and 500 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition. The suspects remain in custody pending prosecution.

The Inspector-General of Police praised the officers for their commitment and professionalism, emphasizing the need for ongoing collaboration with the public to strengthen national security.
