The ancient town of Odigbo in Ondo State is set to witness a flurry of activities as the Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade (FCPA, FCNA), celebrates his 60th birthday with a weeklong programme from Monday, October 20, to Saturday, October 25, 2025.

On Tuesday, the monarch will host Baales, Olojas, High Chiefs, and members of the Orunja-in-Council at the palace in a cultural gathering expected to attract notable traditional figures.
Traditional games, including Ayo Olopon and drafts, will take place on Wednesday at the palace and the Odigbo Sports Complex between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Later that day, Isero Grammar School and Odigbo High School will square off in a friendly football match to promote youth engagement.
An interdenominational praise and worship session will hold at the palace on Thursday by 4:00 p.m., while Friday will feature a book launch at Isero Grammar School Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the conferment of chieftaincy titles at the palace by 2:00 p.m.

The grand finale is scheduled for Saturday with a church service at Our Saviour Anglican Church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a birthday reception at the Odigbo Sports Complex by 1:00 p.m.
