Okitipupa LG Boss Flags Off Renewed Hope Cash Transfer Scheme

The Executive Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Area in Ondo State, Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin, on Friday launched the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, a Federal Government initiative aimed at alleviating poverty among indigent households.

The official flag-off, held at the Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat, was attended by representatives from the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO), community leaders, and beneficiaries of the scheme.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ogunsakin applauded the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the initiative as a “critical lifeline” for vulnerable citizens amid current economic challenges.

“This programme represents more than just financial support — it’s a restoration of dignity and hope for families at the margins,” he said.

The Conditional Cash Transfer Programme provides monthly stipends to pre-identified low-income households to improve access to food, education, and healthcare, while also offering livelihood coaching and capacity-building.

Ogunsakin pledged full support for the seamless execution of the programme in Okitipupa LGA, assuring stakeholders of transparency, community inclusion, and diligent monitoring to ensure success.

He also urged beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the funds, emphasizing that the support is meant to improve their quality of life and reduce long-term dependence.

The event underscored federal-local collaboration in delivering social protection programmes and advancing grassroots development.
