The Ondo State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of 15 individuals as commissioners in the state cabinet, following a screening exercise conducted by the House Committee on Selection.
Presenting the committee’s report at plenary, Deputy Speaker Ololade Gbegudu said the nominees were found competent, qualified, and suitably experienced to serve in their respective portfolios.
The confirmed nominees include:
Sunday Olajide, Amidu Takuro, Olaolu Akindolire, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, Dr. Seun Osamaye, Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu, Ayodele Akande, Dr. Tob Loko, Idowu Ajanaku, Johnson Alabi, Segun Omoyofunmi, Bola Ademuwagun, Leye Akinola, Dr. Banji Ajaka, and Adesoji Afolabi.
However, the confirmation of Mr. Ayorinde Olawoye was put on hold due to his absence during the screening. The House stated that he would be considered at a later date once he appears before the committee.
Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, congratulated the newly confirmed commissioners and urged them to work in synergy with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration to deliver good governance and impactful policies to the people of Ondo State.
The confirmation moves the state closer to forming a full executive council to drive the administration’s development agenda.
