— 60km of strategic road rehabilitation underway across three senatorial districts
— Contractors mobilized to Araromi Beach link roads
ILAJE, ONDO STATE – The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Friday embarked on an on-the-spot inspection of ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects in the state’s southern axis, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to rural development and economic integration.
The inspection tour, which took the Governor to several sites in Ilaje Local Government Area, forms part of broader efforts by the Aiyedatiwa-led government to revamp infrastructure across the 60km stretch of selected roads under construction in all three senatorial districts of the state.

“These are rural access and great marketing programs designed to help our farmers bring their produce to the market and urban centres with ease,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said during a stop at Igbokoda.
He noted that the projects are being executed by multiple contractors, including those engaged under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAMP), a World Bank-supported initiative co-funded by the Ondo State Government. The Governor emphasized that improved road infrastructure remains a cornerstone for driving agricultural productivity and rural economic growth.
Among the projects inspected was the 4.5km NDDC Quarters road, overseen by the Ministry of Infrastructure. Aiyedatiwa disclosed that between 15 and 20 percent of the work has already been completed.
“As you can see, much work has been done. About 15 to 20 percent of the road has been completed. We are here to assess the quality and speed of work,” the Governor stated.
Accompanied by key government officials, including the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, and officials from the Ministry of Works, the Governor also visited several RAMP project sites.
These include the 1.7km Araromi Beach road leading to Holy Center—where contractors were recently mobilized—as well as the Oboto-to-coastal-line road intended to facilitate transport of freshly caught fish to inland markets.
“These are some of the roads we have come to inspect in the Southern Senatorial District. There are other roads we couldn’t reach today, but we will schedule visits to those locations later,” he added.
Governor Aiyedatiwa concluded the tour by restating his administration’s resolve to deliver infrastructure projects that not only enhance movement but also stimulate local economies and improve the quality of life for residents in underserved communities.
