The Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency has intensified efforts to improve maternal nutrition and antenatal services with a one-day cascade training on Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) for frontline health workers.
Held simultaneously across all 18 LGAs, the training brought together key frontline healthcare workers and other antenatal care (ANC) service providers.
In a post shared via the Agency’s verified Facebook page noted that the capacity building is part of a broader strategy to enhance antenatal care quality and reduce complications linked to micronutrient deficiencies during pregnancy.

“We are equipping frontline healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills to administer MMS correctly during antenatal care. When health workers are well-equipped, pregnant women receive better care, reducing risks associated with poor nutrition,” the post stated.
The training which was conducted in partnership with Restoration of the Dignity of Womanhood, a development-focused organization working on maternal and child health interventions in Ondo State.
According to the post, MMS will support healthier pregnancies by ensuring women receive essential vitamins and minerals during gestation, improving outcomes for both mothers and newborns.

The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery, especially in underserved communities.
