The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Otu, has commended the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, for her trailblazing role in strengthening Nigeria’s relationship with its citizens abroad.
Otu, who received Dabiri-Erewa during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Calabar, said NiDCOM under her leadership had redefined diaspora affairs and restored confidence in Nigeria’s global image.

He noted that the success of the newly established Cross River Diaspora Commission was inspired by NiDCOM’s model, describing the initiative as timely and impactful.
In her remarks, Dabiri-Erewa praised Cross River for being the first state to create a state-level diaspora commission, calling the development “historic.” She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s commitment to ensuring that more states leverage the expertise and resources of Nigerians abroad for socio-economic development.
