In a decisive move at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled a number of prominent members, including former Governor Ayo Fayose, Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), and Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, over anti-party activities.
The expulsions, ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscore the party’s determination to tackle internal divisions and strengthen discipline ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A PDP source described the action as “necessary to protect the integrity of the party and ensure that its members remain committed to its core values.”

The development has stirred reactions across the political landscape, with analysts predicting significant implications for party unity and the forthcoming electoral contests.
