PDP NOT FINISHED, CAN STILL WIN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SEATS — OYEBODE

Political commentator, Deolu Oyebode, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which many once believed had weakened, remains politically active and capable of winning seats in state and federal legislative elections, particularly in Rivers State.

Oyebode, who shared his views via his verified Facebook page, noted that the opposition party still retains electoral influence in several parts of the country despite recent internal challenges.

According to him, the PDP’s ability to emerge as a strong opposition force, however, may not depend solely on its internal restructuring but also on how the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) manages its political engagements under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

He added that available political signals suggest the APC may currently be more focused on managing emerging opposition dynamics involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) rather than the PDP.

The analyst further argued that, in political strategy, it is often less difficult for a ruling party to relate with a former rival that has since become cooperative than to contend with an ally that has turned critical.
