The Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force have announced that physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing constable recruitment exercise will commence on March 9, 2026.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the commission disclosed that the screening will run through April 18, 2026, and will be conducted across states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the PSC, candidates who successfully completed the online application process are required to visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print necessary documents ahead of their scheduled screening date.
The documents include the guarantor’s form, application submission slip, invitation slip, as well as physical and credential screening forms, all of which must be presented at designated screening centres.
Applicants are also expected to come along with valid identification, including their National Identity Number issued by the National Identity Management Commission, educational certificates, birth records, and proof of local government or state of origin. Specialists are further required to present relevant trade test certificates.
The commission stressed that all credentials must be arranged in duplicate copies and submitted in separate white files, with recent passport photographs attached.
It added that candidates must appear at screening venues dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings.
Reaffirming the integrity of the process, PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd.), warned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters, noting that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and devoid of any financial obligations.

He assured that the exercise would be conducted with transparency and accountability, adding that anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
