PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU ARRIVES IN LAGOS 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday arrived in Lagos ahead of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), scheduled for Wednesday.

The presidential jet touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, around 4:15 p.m., where he was warmly received by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other top officials. A military parade was also held in his honour.

As Chairman of ECOWAS, Tinubu is expected to deliver a keynote address during the commemorative ceremony taking place at Eko Hotels and Suites, where he will reflect on the regional bloc’s achievements over the past five decades.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the event will feature regional leaders and dignitaries from across West Africa.

During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is also billed to inaugurate a number of landmark projects on Saturday, May 31. These include Section One of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Lekki Deep Sea Port Tax Credit Concrete Road, the flag-off of Section Two of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, and the 7th Axial Road.

President Tinubu is expected to observe the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the State House Mosque, Dodan Barracks, Ikoyi, before returning to Abuja.
