President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr. Taiwo Oyedele as the Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.
Dr. Uzoka-Anite will now move to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third portfolio in the Tinubu administration.
In a letter to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu formally forwarded Oyedele’s nomination for Senate confirmation.
Before his ministerial nomination, Oyedele, a native of Ikaram, Akoko, Ondo State, chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, a panel that overhauled Nigeria’s tax system.
The 50-year-old economist, accountant, and public policy expert attended Yaba College of Technology, earning a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance. He later obtained a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
Oyedele has also attended executive programmes at the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Harvard Kennedy School.

He spent 22 years at PwC, joining in 2001 and rising to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. He also serves as a professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
