The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the mass failure recorded in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Lawmakers expressed concern over the widespread poor performance by candidates and questioned the integrity of the examination process and the technical operations of the computer-based testing system.
In a related move, the House advocated the establishment of computer-based test (CBT) centres in every local government area to ensure equal access and reduce the distance many candidates are forced to travel.
The resolution is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s educational assessment system.
