The political landscape in Ondo State has begun to witness a wave of resignations as several appointees under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa step down from office to pursue various elective positions ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Those affected include senior aides and agency heads who have officially submitted their resignation letters in compliance with electoral guidelines governing political office holders seeking elective positions.
Among them are the Special Adviser on Transport, Gbenga Omole; Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (Central), Fadairo Oluwafemi; and the Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Olusegun Victor Ategbole.
Also on the list is the Director-General of the Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit, Engr. Razaq Obe, who has also stepped aside from his role.
The resigning officials are reportedly eyeing seats in the House of Representatives across different federal constituencies, while others are targeting the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Similarly, the Secretary to Akure South Local Government, Adeola Rosemary Fynch, has also exited her position to contest for a seat in the state legislature.

Political observers say more resignations may follow in the coming days as aspirants align with the timetable for the APC primaries and preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify.
