…Abiona extols monarch’s humility, leadership as dignitaries gather in Odigbo
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the ABIONA Platform, Dr. Samuel Oluwafemi Abiona, joined eminent personalities and traditional rulers to celebrate the Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade, on his 60th birthday anniversary.
The colourful event, held at the Odigbo Township Stadium, was marked by pomp, pageantry, and cultural displays as dignitaries from across Ondo State and beyond gathered to honour the revered monarch.
In his tribute, Dr. Abiona described Oba Akinrinmade as a rare and visionary leader whose reign has fostered peace, unity, and socio-cultural development in Odigbo Kingdom.
“Kabiyesi is a beacon of humility, wisdom, and selfless service. His commitment to the development of his people and the preservation of Yoruba heritage is truly inspiring,” Dr. Abiona said.
Among the dignitaries at the ceremony were the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye III; the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, Oba Aderemi Adelola; and Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin.
Dr. Abiona, who shares a close bond with the celebrant, also interacted warmly with several dignitaries, including the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye III; the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, Oba Aderemi Adelola; and political leaders, reflecting the deep respect and goodwill that characterized the event.
The celebration featured goodwill messages, gospel music ministrations, traditional performances, and prayers for continued peace and prosperity in Odigbo Kingdom under the reign of Oba Akinrinmade.
