SUNDAY IGBOHO STORMS OWO, HAILS OLOWO’S SUPPORT

Yoruba nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, on Tuesday stormed the ancient palace of Owo to pay homage to the Olowo of Owo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III.

Igboho, who was received with traditional fanfare, said his visit was to personally thank the revered monarch for standing with farmers and indigenes of Yorubaland during years of violent herdsmen attacks that ravaged communities.

Speaking at the palace, the activist recalled the trying moments when farmers were displaced and lives were lost, stressing that the Olowo’s firm stance and encouragement served as a beacon of hope for many.

“The Kabiyesi did not only give us wise counsel but also stood solidly by the people at a time when fear and intimidation almost silenced us. His support strengthened our resolve to keep defending our land,” Igboho declared.

In his remarks, Oba Ogunoye extolled Igboho’s courage, describing him as “a symbol of hope to the present generation and generations yet unborn.”

The monarch, however, urged Igboho and his followers to continue to uphold peace and lawfulness, noting that true security and sustainable development could only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual understanding.
