
A 23-year-old tailor, Faith Adeola, has been remanded in custody for allegedly stabbing his friend, Gbenga Olotu, to death during a heated argument over a missing stabilizer in Oka-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on May 10, 2025, when a disagreement between the two friends escalated into a fatal confrontation.
The defendant was arraigned before an Akure Magistrates’ Court on a charge of murder. The police prosecutor told the court that the suspect allegedly used a sharp object to stab the deceased in the chest during the altercation.
Following a request for legal advice from the state Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the Magistrate, Mrs. T. O. Olusola, ordered that Adeola be remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre in Akure.
The matter was adjourned until May 29, 2025, for further mention.
The community has been thrown into mourning as residents describe the incident as a shocking and avoidable tragedy among friends.
