Tinubu Administration Unveils National Action Plan to End Violence Against Children

The Federal Government has launched the National Action Plan on Ending Violence Against Children in Nigeria, marking a significant step in child protection efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at the inaugural regional meeting of the Africa Pathfinder Countries of the Global Alliance on Ending Violence Against Children, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President—who was represented by H.E. Senator Kashim Shettima—emphasized the urgent need for strict enforcement of the Child Rights Act and related child protection laws.

Key initiatives highlighted include the establishment of a dedicated Child Protection and Development Agency, the rollout of a Universal Child Grant to combat household poverty, and the creation of a National Child Protection Database alongside a Child Well-being Index to monitor progress and ensure accountability.
