President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Senate requesting the confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The letter was read on the floor of the Senate during Tuesday’s plenary by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Dr. Udeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and legal scholar from Enugu State, is being nominated to fill an existing vacancy in the Federal Executive Council. The President said the nomination aligns with his ongoing effort to strengthen the administration with competent technocrats under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Senate is expected to commence screening in line with constitutional requirements and legislative procedures. The process will assess his qualifications, professional experience, and preparedness to contribute to national development.

If confirmed, Dr. Udeh will join the Federal Cabinet as one of the ministers representing the South-East, a move seen as part of efforts to deepen regional inclusion and promote balanced governance.
