
U.S. President Donald Trump praised the progress in U.S.-China trade talks, describing them as a “total reset” before the second day of closed-door discussions aimed at easing trade tensions caused by his tariff policies.
Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the talks “very good” and “constructive.” The negotiations, involving top U.S. officials and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, aim to reduce the high tariffs, which have led to a trade standoff between the two countries.
Trump had previously suggested a potential 80% tariff on China but later clarified that any tariff reduction would require Chinese concessions.
