The Ondo State Government has stepped into the lingering industrial dispute at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, ordering a return to normal operations as part of efforts to restore stability in the institution.
Following the intervention, the management of the polytechnic directed lecturers, administrative personnel and other workers to resume duties without delay.
The directive, issued under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, also placed a temporary ban on union activities within the school. Leaders of the affected unions have equally been barred from official engagements pending further review.
Management stressed that compliance with the resumption order is mandatory, warning that the “No Work, No Pay” rule will be applied in line with public service regulations for any staff who fails to report to duty.
According to the institution, the measures are designed to restore order, protect the academic calendar and ensure uninterrupted administrative functions.
It added that engagement with stakeholders would continue, urging workers to cooperate with authorities in the overall interest of the polytechnic community.

The management reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining a peaceful environment conducive to teaching, learning and efficient service delivery.
