The National Association of International Relations Students (NAIRS) has honoured the Founder of Kids & Teens Resource Centre, Mr. Martin-Mary Falana, with the title of SDG-5 Ambassador in recognition of his fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and promotion of gender equality.
NAIRS described the honour as its highest, citing Falana’s “outstanding grassroots contributions” to the protection and empowerment of women and girls across rural African communities.
Falana, a renowned child rights advocate, has led numerous community campaigns aimed at ending harmful traditional practices, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Speaking on the award, the Executive Director of the Centre, Mrs. Folashade Bamigboye, said it was a reflection of Falana’s unwavering dedication to social justice.
In a Facebook post, Bamigboye described Martin-Mary Falana as “a worthy ambassador who continues to inspire action at the community level.” She added, “ Falana is dedicated to driving progress toward the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and this recognition is well-deserved. We invite everyone to celebrate this remarkable achievement with us.”
