Dabiri-Erewa Visits Barking Mayor, Seeks Better Opportunities for Nigerians in UK

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, OON, has paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, Councillor Princess Opeyemi Bright, at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

During the strategic engagement, the Mayor reaffirmed her commitment to creating more opportunities for Nigerians living in the UK, particularly in her constituency. She emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom and pledged to support initiatives that would enable the Nigerian diaspora to thrive socially and economically.

Dabiri-Erewa, while commending the Mayor’s efforts, noted that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and diaspora relations and to promote the welfare of Nigerians abroad.

The visit marks another step in NiDCOM’s sustained engagement with key stakeholders to ensure that Nigerians in the diaspora are positively represented and adequately supported.
