ABIONA PLATFORM BoT Chair to Bid Mother Farewell September 12–13

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the ABIONA PLATFORM, Dr. Samuel Abiona, is set to lead family members, friends, and associates in paying last respects to his beloved matriarch, the late Mrs. Dorcas Aarinola Adebolarin Motolagbe Olamode Abiona, who passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 91.

According to a burial card made available to RootedScope Media, the funeral arrangements will commence on Friday, September 12, 2025, with a Christian wake at No. 20 Okelisa Street, Araromi-Obu, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The body of the nonagenarian will depart from the State Specialist Hospital, Ondo Town, to her hometown, Araromi-Obu, for burial rites, beginning with a Christian wake at the her residence.

The interment service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, for eternal rest, while the reception and entertainment of guests will follow immediately at the Community Primary School field in Araromi-Obu.

Born on July 3, 1934, the late Mrs. Abiona was described by her children, family members, and associates as a devout Christian, a community-oriented woman, and a loving mother whose legacy of kindness and strength will remain etched in the hearts of many.

She is survived by children, grandchildren, and other extended family members, including Dr. Samuel Abiona, a medical doctor and Director in the Ondo State Civil Service, whose leadership within the ABIONA PLATFORM continues to positively impact individuals and communities.

As the family prepares to bid their final farewell, the life and legacy of late Mrs. Dorcas Aarinola Abiona serve as a timeless reminder of the values she embodied—faith, humility, service, and unconditional love. Her journey may have come to an end, but the seeds of compassion and integrity she planted will continue to blossom in the lives she touched. Her memory lives on—not only in the hearts of her children and grandchildren but also in the community she so dearly cherished. May her soul find peaceful and eternal rest.
