
The ancient town of Owo was agog on Friday, September 19, as this year’s Igogo Festival featured a colourful beauty contest that drew dignitaries, culture enthusiasts, and a cheering crowd.
Emerging top among the contestants, Miss Oladapo Bisola Joy was crowned Miss Oronshen 2025, a title that came with a cash prize of ₦1 million. Her triumph sparked jubilation among supporters and festival-goers.

The event, presided over by the Olowo of Owo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, was hailed as a creative addition to the festival. The monarch praised the organizers for showcasing tradition through modern platforms, stressing that the pageant not only celebrates beauty but also intelligence, poise, and cultural pride.
The Igogo Festival, famous for its flamboyant costumes, traditional music, and cultural displays, has continued to gain national and international recognition. Observers say the pageant has added fresh excitement to the yearly celebrations.

Miss Ogunleye Bisola Faith and Miss Monday Bosede Esther were named first and second runners-up respectively.
