Former NULGE PRO, Comrade Victor Omodara, has described Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as a “silent winning governor,” saying his administration’s approach to governance is focused more on performance and results than political rhetoric.
Omodara, in a write-up titled, “Aiyedatiwa: The Silent Winning Governor,” said Aiyedatiwa had adopted a relatively restrained approach to politics by avoiding unnecessary public confrontations and allowing government interventions to speak for the administration.
According to him, political noise may dominate public discourse in the short term, but tangible achievements are more likely to determine how an administration is remembered.
“In politics, noise wins the moment. Performance wins the memory. Legacy belongs to the record,” he said.
Omodara noted that Nigerian politics often rewards politicians who dominate headlines and respond publicly to criticism, but argued that Aiyedatiwa appeared to be pursuing a different style of political leadership.
He described the governor’s approach as “the politics of quietness,” where governance, performance and results take precedence over political rhetoric.
The former NULGE PRO said Aiyedatiwa had demonstrated a tendency to speak when necessary and act when required, rather than responding to every criticism or engaging in political disagreements in the public space.
He added that the impact of government should ultimately be measured by how its programmes affect residents in their daily lives.
“For a pensioner receiving a long-awaited entitlement, a new road is not a press release. For a student gaining access to a better educational environment, government is not a slogan. For a motorist navigating improved infrastructure, a flyover is not merely a ceremonial project,” Omodara stated.
He argued that such interventions were what made government tangible to citizens, describing Aiyedatiwa’s restrained political style as a form of discipline.
Omodara further said that avoiding unnecessary political confrontations could help preserve the authority associated with the office of the governor.
“Not every provocation deserves a response,” he said.
He urged the governor to remain focused on governance and continue what he described as his “winning in silence” approach.
“Keep winning in silence, OUR EASE Governor,” Omodara added.
