ONDO HEALTH EDUCATORS TO HOLD HEALTH WEEK, HONOUR RETIRED MEMBERS

The Nigerian Association of Health Educators (NAHE), Ondo State Chapter, has announced plans to hold its 2026 Health Week and Send-off Ceremony as part of efforts to reposition the association and deliberate on issues affecting the health education profession.

In a press statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akure, the association said the event will hold on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) House, opposite Ilesha Garage, Akure.

According to the statement, the programme is themed, “Health Education: Empowering Communities for Healthy Living and Sustainable Development.” It explained that the event is aimed at promoting health education as a catalyst for improving public health and achieving sustainable development.

The association stated that health educators from the 18 local government areas of the state, public health professionals, senior government officials, and other stakeholders are expected to attend the event to discuss strategies for strengthening health promotion and disease prevention.

It added that the programme would also feature a send-off ceremony in honour of members who have made remarkable contributions to the association and to the health education profession.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Akinwande Mayowa, earlier today, ahead of the ceremony, led a team of health educators to a PHC facility in Ondo West LGA to sensitize nursing mothers on child care and routine immunization, where the team donated baby diapers to mothers who attended the immunization clinic.

He urged members, stakeholders, and the general public to attend the programme, reaffirming the association’s commitment to advancing health education and building healthier communities.

Other officials listed in the statement include the State President and the General Secretary of the association.
