
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has formally launched his campaign for the 2027 presidential election, unveiling an agenda aimed at transforming Nigeria from a consumption-driven economy to a production-based one.
Obi, who spoke in Onitsha, Anambra State, identified insecurity, poverty, unemployment and deficits in education and healthcare among the major challenges confronting the country.

He pledged that his administration would prioritise agriculture, manufacturing, technology, energy and human capital development as part of efforts to stimulate economic growth and improve the living conditions of Nigerians.
