President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo on the occasion of his 99th birthday, praising his exemplary life defined by discipline, integrity, and compassion.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the nonagenarian as a man whose life story reflects dedication, principle, and impactful service to both country and community.

Tracing his early career, the President noted that Alhaji Erogbogbo began his working life at the Government Printing Press in Lagos before joining the Nigerian Customs Service. In 1954, he embarked on a long and distinguished career with Shell Company of Nigeria Limited, where he rose through the ranks of the aviation division. He served as Aviation Supervisor and later District Manager in Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina, eventually becoming Aviation Superintendent at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
President Tinubu lauded Alhaji Erogbogbo not only for his professional achievements but also for his pivotal role as a family and community figure. He is the father of Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), whose own contributions to national development the President described as a reflection of the values instilled by her father.
“As you turn 99, I join family, friends and well-wishers across the nation in celebrating your life. I pray that you continue to enjoy good health and peace in the company of your loved ones. I pray you cross the centennial mark in good health and sound mind,” President Tinubu stated.
“I thank Almighty Allah for granting you long life and being alive to witness the achievements of your children and grandchildren,” he added.
