The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has stepped into the ongoing dispute between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, following a controversial incident at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the minister confirmed he had personally reached out to both parties shortly after the episode unfolded. While the details of the confrontation remain unclear, the incident has since sparked heated reactions online and in the media.
Keyamo, in a bid to douse tensions and ensure a fair process, cautioned all involved against issuing public statements that could escalate the situation. He urged restraint and mutual respect pending the outcome of investigations.
“I have instructed the relevant aviation agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter,” he stated. “No hasty conclusions should be drawn until all sides have been heard.”
According to the minister, the agencies have been tasked with collating all available evidence and submitting a comprehensive report to his office. He emphasized that the findings would help the ministry develop clear guidelines for managing similar situations in the future.
The development comes amid increasing public scrutiny of airline-passenger relations, particularly involving high-profile individuals.
