The Presidency has dismissed reports suggesting the replacement of Senator George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
In a statement released on Friday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, clarified that there has been no change in Akume’s status.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments regarding the office of the SGF,” the statement read.
Onanuga described the circulating report as false and the handiwork of mischief-makers bent on spreading disinformation.
