A student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Staff Secondary School, Paul Demilade Adewale, has emerged winner of the 2025 Mathematics Olympiad organised by the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ondo State Chapter.
Adewale, a Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS3) student, outshone 17 other contenders from five educational zones across the state to clinch the top spot in the junior category of the competition. The grand finale was held on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
The promising teenager will now represent Ondo State at the national level of the competition slated for August.
His journey to victory began earlier this month during the zonal preliminaries on July 5, where he topped a pool of 70 students from 32 schools drawn from four local government areas within his zone.
Adewale’s feat has been described as a testament to the academic excellence and strong mathematics culture being promoted at FUTA Staff Secondary School.
